Welcome to the Grahamstown Christian Centre Website.

Grahamstown Christian Centre, fondly referred to as "The Church on The Hill," as it overlooks the picturesque university city of Grahamstown, was started on the 22 November 1992.

Derrick and Gayle opened the first Sunday morning service in their huge sitting room in Ayliff Street. They had been holding a mid-week meeting from their home for seven months. Pastor Chris Venter, from the East London Christian Centre, and Pastors Dalys & Jenny Sparg, from the Port Alfred Christian Centre, blessed and released this ministry to be used by God in Grahamstown.

It soon outgrew the Hagemann home and we moved to the Graeme College hall. While trusting God for their own space, they then hired the SDA Church building as it was closer to the Rhodes University campus.

In November 2016 we celebrate 25 years in Grahamstown and 22 years in our own building! But what a transition from a dilapidated old prefab building with rusty and broken windows to the beautiful sanctuary it is today. Just an example of how God restores us personally once we allow Him into our lives!

Our services start at 9.00 a.m. on Sundays and we also meet in homes across the City from Tuesday to Friday evenings.

Come and join us. We would love to meet you!

Grahamstown Christian Centre is part of a family of Churches known as Church of the Nations (COTN) and is part of Pastor John Scholtz’s Apostolic Cluster from the Harvest Christian Church in Port Elizabeth.

Please click here to find out more about how churches relate to COTN.

"Churches in COTN are governed and led by their governing elders, and are directly served by an apostolic father or fathers. This is a person, who is seen by the local leadership as their apostolic input and relational link into COTN."

Declaration

I declare that the Spiritual gifts are portions of God’s grace. They display the personal, powerful presence of the Holy Spirit, and are given to every believer for the common good of the church. I as a believer will flow in one or more of the gifts, the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, the working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, different types of tongues or the interpretation of tongues for the benefit of all. This is my declaration.
